This initiative was started from one of visit to Jharkhand, around early 2018 by one of our key members on the insistence of our beloved Chiranjib Maharaj, who was working constantly in that region for the betterment of the villagers’ lives. Moved by the plight of poor tribal villagers in Jharkhand during the visit, few of the Tapassya members started the initiatives to reach out to the families of few villages and extended a helping hand to ease the challenges for their livelihood. We shortlisted four of those villages based on their conditions, proximity to one another and opportunity to improve their livelihood.
Bindubera : Around 30 minutes’ drive from Chandil, it’s almost on the foothill of Dalma ranges . 39 families lives in mud house. Addiction to country liquor is worsening their poverty along with absence of formal education as the kids. Making Plates using Sal leaves and contract field labourer are the main profession Activities done so far Tapassya providing Monthly Ration and Blankets and new dresses multiple times
Tapassya had provided 1 Sal Leaf Plate Making Machine looking into the natural sources of raw material and mothers were making those by hand
An hour drive from Chandil on way to Tatanagar, Tiruldih is in the midst of paddy fields on the side of the highway .have brick and mortar houses . There is a well for all washing and bathing purposes which gets dry during summer. total 18 families , 15 children , depends on cultivation Tapassya had repaired one Tube Well in Korabaru, Monthly Ration Distribution ,10 Banana trees have been planted ,provided Blankets and new dresses
36 families displaying equally worse living condition,with Dalma hills as backdrop on one side and a dense forest on the other side. A primary school is operational here indicating the kids get education. Tapassya providing monthly ration, provided blankets and new dresses, Organized tiffin and additional tuition for the kids in existing school building
